Entry Level Tax Accountant Assistant for CPA Firm
This is an exciting opportunity as an entry level Tax Accountant Assistant. Our Memorial-Area boutique CPA firm is looking for a strategic thinker who is looking to develop their skills and learn the world of tax accounting.
This position is Monday-Friday (with flexible hours between 8:00am to 5:00pm). This position provides valuable experience.
This role will be responsible for tasks such as:
- Assist in the Preparation of federal income tax returns for personal & business
- Prepare Texas Franchise Tax & State Returns
- Help with IRS correspondence
- Running quarterly estimates
- Working with QuickBooks
- Preparing 1099s, W2s Etc.
- Data Entry
- Help file tax return extensions and prepare drafts/final returns for client review
- Miscellaneous projects to provide support to our tax team as needed
Helpful Skills and Qualifications:
- Understand the technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
- Familiar in financial statement preparation, payroll reports and data entry
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong reconciliation, data manipulation, analytical and problem-solving skill
- Able to identify and resolve discrepancies and proactively communication with client on important issues
- Strong time management skills while working with multiple clients and deadlines
- Able to work independently with good communication skills
